Mike McKinnon
Making cars look beautiful isn’t just a job for Mike. It’s what gets him excited. It has been since he restored his first Mustang at 19-years-old. A four-cylinder gem, it needed a tad bit of work. The experience showed him how powerful the right products and tools are when used with care and attention. It’s this same care and attention that Mike gives every car that comes in.
Detailing cars professionally for more than a decade, Mike founded Benchmark Auto Salon with his wife, Katie, in 2011. Since the beginning, they’ve been committed to providing an affordable option for transforming your vehicle to its full potential.
A Mustang man to this day, Mike’s continued to work on older models, including his fully restored ’91 Mustang. When not working on cars, Mike can often be found at the gym working out, playing soccer or spending time with Katie and their family.

Katie McKinnon
Raised in the Pacific Northwest, Katie co-owns Benchmark Auto Salon with her husband, Mike. In 2011, they founded the company on a simple principle – make cars look beautiful. It’s what they’ve been doing ever since. For Katie, it's a great pleasure to see a vehicle restored to its natural beauty.
At Benchmark, she is the coordinating glue that holds the business together. From scheduling appointments and answering customer questions to reviewing products and ordering supplies, she does it all.
A dog-loving, avid snowboarder, she met Mike in high school. Even then, they both shared a passion for cars. Now, it’s a passion they get to pursue together every day.
